A Magic Circle firm seeks an experienced banking and finance lawyer for a 2-month flexible engagement (hybrid, Sydney). This consulting role supports client work in corporate lending, restructuring, and insolvency matters within the financial services sector.

The work:

• Advise on corporate lending transactions and complex financing structures, including secondary debt trading
• Support implementation of formal insolvency and restructuring processes
• Identify regulatory compliance issues and commercial risks in lending and financial services
• Review and manage finance documentation for domestic and international transactions
• Provide technical advice on regulatory and transactional banking matters
• Coordinate with external advisers and multiple stakeholders

What they're looking for:

• 7+ years in banking and finance practice
• Deep expertise in transactional finance and insolvency/restructuring implementation
• Strong knowledge of corporate lending, regulatory frameworks, and asset classes
• Sound judgment balancing legal, commercial, and client considerations
• Ability to work independently, negotiate complex issues, and adapt to client needs
• Current Australian practising certificate and unrestricted right to work in Australia
