Real Estate Finance Senior Associate, Sydney · Global Top-Tier Firm

A global top-tier firm with 3,500+ legal professionals across 52 offices seeks a senior associate for its real estate finance practice in Sydney. Chambers rates the practice Band 1. The team handles the full spectrum of sophisticated transactions, from bilateral and syndicated investment facilities to complex development, construction, and acquisition financings with multi-jurisdictional or bespoke structuring.

The work:

• Lead transactions end-to-end, drafting and negotiating facility, security, and intercreditor documentation
• Mentor junior lawyers and manage matter strategy
• Liaise directly with senior stakeholders, sponsors, and financiers
• Build key client relationships and contribute to thought leadership initiatives
• Support practice growth through business development and knowledge-sharing

What they're looking for:

• 5+ years of loan markets experience at a top-tier or respected mid-tier firm, or in-house real estate finance background
• Proficiency in drafting and negotiating real estate finance documents, including facility agreements, intercreditor agreements, and related instruments
• Knowledge of APLMA precedents and market standards
• Direct experience managing complex transactions to tight deadlines with appropriate partner support
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated analytical and drafting abilities
