State and Local Tax Associate, Sacramento and San Francisco · Am Law Global 100 Firm

Mid-level state and local tax opportunity at a top 100 national firm. You'll handle SALT planning and controversy for corporations, private businesses, and high-net-worth individuals across multiple industries and jurisdictions.

The work:

• Tax planning for domestic and international transactions, M&A, and capital markets
• Audit defense and representation in state tax proceedings
• Appeals and multi-jurisdictional litigation
• Business restructuring and transactional planning
• Wealth transfer and estate planning matters
• Coordination on tax policy and legislative matters

What they're looking for:

• 2-6 years of SALT or tax experience
• California bar admission required
• Strong writing and analytical skills
• Tax controversy, government, or court background preferred
• LLM in Taxation valued but not required
• Property tax experience a plus

Competitive compensation ($215K-$390K based on experience).
