Employee Benefits & Compensation Associate, New York and Washington, DC · Am Law 100 Firm

An Am Law 100 firm's compensation and benefits practice is seeking an associate with 4 to 6 years of experience advising on health and welfare benefit plans. The role combines transactional work in M&A with ongoing client counseling.

The work:

• Advise on health and welfare benefits including medical, disability, life insurance, FSAs, HRAs, cafeteria plans, and HSAs
• Support M&A transactions involving benefits arrangements
• Provide ongoing counseling to clients on benefits compliance and structuring
• Draft and negotiate benefits-related agreements and documentation

What they're looking for:

• 4 to 6 years of specialized experience with health and welfare plans
• Substantial background in both M&A and counseling contexts
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school
• Strong academic credentials and writing skills
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
• Flexibility: the firm considers part-time and reduced-hour schedules for qualified candidates

Compensation: $320,000 to $440,000.
