A leading venture-stage law firm seeks a data privacy associate to advise emerging and growth-stage technology companies on privacy compliance, data governance, and AI regulation.

The work:

• Counsel clients on CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA, COPPA, BIPA, and emerging AI regulatory frameworks
• Draft and negotiate privacy policies, data processing agreements, and data sharing terms
• Support product launches, commercial agreements, and regulatory compliance efforts
• Manage privacy and security considerations in venture financings and M&A transactions
• Maintain team forms and knowledge resources

What they're looking for:

• 1-4 years of post-JD experience (graduating 2022-2025)
• Background in privacy counseling, product regulation, commercial contracting, cybersecurity, or transaction work
• Interest in startup and growth-stage companies
• Comfort with emerging technologies and shifting regulatory requirements
• California bar admission
• Strong academic credentials and writing ability

Compensation: $225,000–$310,000. The role provides early responsibility and direct client contact across privacy, product, and cybersecurity work.
