Established intellectual property practice seeking a chemistry-focused patent prosecution attorney with 1-3 years of prosecution experience. This role involves managing patent applications for chemical and pharmaceutical innovations with application across small molecule and drug development matters.

The work:

• Manage USPTO prosecution for patents in chemical and pharmaceutical technologies
• Develop patentability assessments and prosecution strategies
• Analyze competitive landscape and freedom-to-operate considerations
• Counsel clients on patent protection timing and portfolio strategy
• Work with inventors and in-house teams at major companies

What they're looking for:

• PhD in Chemistry or equivalent advanced chemistry degree
• 1-3 years working as a patent prosecutor
• Experience with small molecule or pharmaceutical patent matters
• Active bar membership and USPTO registration
• Strong technical writing and legal analysis skills
• Comfort working with complex chemistry and patent law intersection
