Tax Associate, New York; Richmond · Leading National Law Firm

Leading national law firm seeking mid-level tax associate for partnership-track role. Position based in New York or Richmond offices.

The work:

• Federal income tax drafting and structuring across complex transactions
• Partnership and joint venture agreements for real estate and M&A deals
• Private equity transaction structuring and advising
• REIT and mortgage securitization structures (experience a plus, not required)
• Direct client counseling and counterparty negotiations
• Lead projects independently with problem-solving and creative thinking

What they're looking for:

• 4-7 years experience in tax practice
• Strong federal income tax and M&A structuring expertise
• Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex transaction documentation
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Initiative, leadership potential, and client-facing judgment
• Bar admission in New York or Virginia (required within one year)
