Vault top appellate firm seeking a senior associate with deep patent appeals expertise to join its Supreme Court and Appellate practice. The firm has built one of the nation's strongest appellate benches, with consistent success across federal courts and appeals courts, including the Supreme Court.

The work:

• Lead on Federal Circuit patent appeals and IP litigation in high-tech and life sciences industries
• Develop and execute appellate strategy for complex patent disputes
• Draft briefs, certiorari petitions, motions, and legal memoranda with sophisticated technical analysis
• Conduct appellate-level research and legal analysis on patent law issues
• Work with trial teams to preserve appellate issues and build records for appeal
• Prepare for oral argument and participate in moot court exercises
• Advise clients on appellate procedure, outcomes, and strategic considerations

What they're looking for:

• 5-7 years of appellate litigation experience, with focus on patent and IP matters
• Federal Circuit admission (or willingness to obtain)
• Prior clerkship experience, preferably with Federal Circuit or patent-focused district court
• Strong track record drafting appellate briefs and substantive motions in patent or IP matters
• Ability to engage deeply with complex technical subject matter
• Excellent legal research and writing skills with strong attention to detail
