Senior Associate, Sydney · Magic Circle Firm

A Magic Circle firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its M&A and Private Equity practice in Sydney. The role offers the opportunity to manage complex cross-border transactions while developing expertise in high-stakes deal work.

The work:

• Handle complex multi-jurisdictional M&A and private equity transactions
• Draft, review, and negotiate key transaction documents including purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, and financing documents
• Lead due diligence processes, identifying risks and ensuring thorough document analysis
• Work with local counsel across multiple jurisdictions
• Manage client relationships and provide strategic legal advice
• Coach and develop junior associates

What they're looking for:

• Admission in Australia, England & Wales, or another Common Law jurisdiction
• 5-7 years of post-qualification experience at Senior Associate level
• Proven experience on complex M&A and private equity transactions
• Strong commercial contract experience
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and work under pressure
• Client service orientation and commercial awareness
