Restructuring Associate, Charlotte; Portland; Seattle · Global Finance Powerhouse
A leading global firm with substantial restructuring and insolvency capabilities is hiring mid-level associates for its Charlotte, Portland, and Seattle offices. This is an opportunity to work on complex Chapter 11 filings, out-of-court restructurings, and related disputes alongside experienced practitioners who actively mentor associates into positions of greater responsibility.
The work:
- Advise debtors, creditors, and other stakeholders in Chapter 11 proceedings
- Handle state law insolvency matters and consensual restructurings
- Pursue avoidable transfer claims and manage asset sale processes
- Prepare motions, disclosure statements, and bankruptcy pleadings
- Manage substantial client contact with experienced counsel oversight
What they're looking for:
- Three to five years of bankruptcy experience through judicial clerkship or law practice
- Background representing either debtors or creditors in Chapter 11 matters
- Familiarity with avoidable transfer disputes and asset sales
- Strong writing, communication, and research capabilities
- Self-directed approach with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- California bar admission preferred; not required
