Renewable Energy Tax Associate, Houston · AmLaw 100 Firm

An AmLaw 100 firm is seeking a tax associate for its renewable energy practice in Houston. This is an opportunity to develop expertise in clean energy transactions while working alongside experienced tax lawyers on complex matters.

The work:

• Advise on federal tax credit qualification for renewable energy projects under IRC Sections 45 and 48, analyzing construction timeline, prevailing wage compliance, and apprenticeship requirements
• Support M&A transactions, tax equity financings, and tax credit transfers
• Draft tax opinions and transactional documentation for renewable energy deals
• Contribute to the team's advisory work on clean energy projects

What they're looking for:

• 1-8 years of law firm experience in tax
• Demonstrated expertise in tax credit transactions and tax equity structures
• Texas bar admission
• Law degree with LL.M. in taxation preferred
• Strong writing and analytical skills
