A Magic Circle firm's Global Funds practice seeks mid-level associates with expertise in registered funds for offices in New York, Washington DC, or San Francisco. This team advises on the formation and governance of retail investment vehicles regulated under the Investment Company Act of 1940. Compensation is competitive and class-year dependent.

The work:

• Form and advise on business development companies (BDCs), registered closed-end funds, and similar retail investment structures
• Guide fund boards on governance, compliance, and regulatory matters under the 1940 Act
• Support the ongoing operations and lifecycle of permanent capital investment vehicles
• Advise on regulatory filings and Investment Company Act compliance

What they're looking for:

• 2-5 years of experience with the formation and ongoing operation of registered retail funds or similar structures
• Deep familiarity with Business Development Company Act requirements and Investment Company Act governance
• Strong knowledge of fund board governance and compliance obligations
• Admission to the bar in New York, Washington DC, or California, with excellent academic credentials
