Privacy and Cybersecurity Associate, Silicon Valley · Premier Technology Firm

Chambers-ranked firm serving technology and life sciences companies. This role supports the Privacy and Cybersecurity practice, which advises on privacy compliance, data governance, breach response, and regulatory defense across transactions and operations.

The work:

• Counsel clients on privacy risk in M&A, capital markets transactions, licensing, and technology deals
• Draft and negotiate privacy policies, data processing agreements, and privacy-related contracts
• Support data governance and regulatory compliance programs
• Advise on federal privacy law (TCPA, GLBA, FCRA, CAN-SPAM, COPPA, FTC Act), state privacy statutes (CCPA), and international privacy regimes (GDPR)
• Assist with data breach response and regulatory investigations

What they're looking for:

• Two to four years in privacy or cybersecurity law, ideally in a transactional context
• Sound knowledge of federal, state, and international privacy frameworks and data flows
• Experience in M&A or technology transactions (lateral transitions into privacy welcomed)
• Proven ability to draft privacy policies and negotiate data agreements
• Willingness to develop deep technical fluency in privacy law
