Patent Litigation Associate, New York · Vault Top 30 Firm

A Vault Top 30 intellectual property practice seeks a mid-level patent litigation associate with 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience. You'll need a strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field, with proven success litigating patent cases in federal district courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

The work:

• Represent clients in patent disputes across federal district courts
• Handle post-grant proceedings and patent trials before the PTAB
• Develop litigation strategies and prepare case materials
• Manage substantial portions of matters independently
• Work with technical consultants and clients on complex IP issues
• Draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents

What they're looking for:

• 3 to 6 years of patent litigation experience (JD issued 2020–2023)
• Strong technical background and working knowledge of engineering or physics
• Patent Bar admission (required)
• District court and PTAB experience
• Outstanding academic credentials
• Excellent writing and presentation skills
