AmLaw 10 firm with an intellectual property and life sciences practice seeks patent counsel for the Seattle office, focusing on biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent prosecution with opportunities to work on emerging companies and established life sciences clients.

The work:

• Patent prosecution for biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovations
• Patent application preparation and prosecution management before the USPTO
• Technical communication and strategy with patent examiners
• Client counseling on patent portfolio strategy
• Collaboration with international and transactional teams
• Supporting portfolio management and licensing matters

What they're looking for:

• 1-5 years of patent prosecution experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals
• Advanced degree in a life sciences field (Ph.D. preferred)
• USPTO patent bar registration required
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently

Compensation: $310,000-$390,000 for mid-level experience, plus annual discretionary bonus.
