Patent Associate, Multiple US Locations · Leading Technology Firm

A leading technology-focused IP practice is expanding its patent prosecution team and seeking associates with deep technical expertise in cutting-edge sectors. The firm works with clients across AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, and related fields requiring sophisticated patent development and protection strategies.

The work:

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging-technology areas, including AI/machine learning, quantum computing, semiconductors, and solid state physics
• Manage client relationships with technically sophisticated inventors and R&D teams
• Develop expertise in translating complex technical innovations into enforceable patent claims
• Build specialized knowledge in rapidly evolving technology sectors

What they're looking for:

• 1–2 years of patent prosecution law firm experience with active patent bar membership
• Bachelor's degree or higher in physics, applied physics, engineering physics, physical chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field
• Working knowledge or practical experience in AI/ML, quantum computing, semiconductors, solid state physics, or optics
• Advanced degree and prior patent agent experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with solid academic track record
