M&A Clearance Associate, Chicago and Washington D.C. · Vault Top 10 Firm

Vault Top 10 firm seeks junior associate for its antitrust practice, focusing on merger compliance. You'll handle Hart-Scott-Rodino Act compliance, advise on merger reportability, draft HSR filings, and analyze the antitrust implications of competitor transactions. You'll coordinate with clients, corporate teams, and colleagues at international offices on cross-border merger review matters.

The work:

• Assess whether transactions trigger HSR reporting requirements
• Prepare and file HSR forms with the appropriate regulatory agencies
• Conduct substantive antitrust analysis of deals and competitive landscapes
• Draft responses to regulatory Second Requests
• Coordinate transaction timelines across clients and counsel

What they're looking for:

• 1+ year of antitrust or corporate M&A experience (M&A clearance background preferred)
• Private equity fund exposure a plus
• Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills
• Ability to manage detail-heavy filings and deadlines
