Litigation Associate, Washington D.C. · Vault Top 20 Firm

The role integrates AI capabilities into core litigation work, not as a box-checking exercise but as genuine practice transformation. You'll work alongside partners shaping the future of law practice with AI, on complex, fast-moving matters. The position requires both strong litigation fundamentals and hands-on facility with AI tools—large language models, AI-assisted research platforms, and document review systems—used daily.

The work:

• Litigation fundamentals: depositions, pleadings, discovery drafting, court appearances, legal research
• Case management: supervising associates, organizing trainings, managing budgets and staffing
• AI application: designing document review processes, identifying and deploying AI solutions across practice areas, training others
• Maintaining active pro bono practice
• Expert collaboration and strategy work

What they're looking for:

• 1-6 years litigation experience with JD
• Active daily use of LLMs, AI research platforms, document review AI
• Critical assessment of AI capabilities and limitations; sound judgment on when AI output needs verification
• Strong technical curiosity; keeps current on model releases and AI developments
• Commitment to AI as transformative to legal practice, not just productivity
• Strong academics, excellent writing and communication, bar membership
• Pro bono commitment and collaborative team orientation
