Litigation Associate, Des Moines · Leading Iowa Law Firm

Regional Iowa law firm seeking a litigation associate with two or more years of experience for its Des Moines office. The practice handles complex matters across commercial, business, employment, and construction disputes, with exposure to all phases of litigation from intake through trial and appeal.

The work:

• Manage litigation matters from case inception through resolution
• Research and analyze complex legal issues
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials, and legal documents
• Conduct investigations, interview witnesses, and develop case strategy
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
• Manage document review and discovery production
• Build client relationships and support business development

What they're looking for:

• Iowa bar admission or ability to obtain promptly
• Two or more years of civil litigation experience in a law firm
• Strong legal research and analytical skills
• Excellent writing and communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Experience with dispositive motions and discovery management
• Sound judgment and ability to work independently and collaboratively
