IP Litigation Associate, Washington, D.C. · Am Law 50 Firm

A large Am Law 50 firm with a recognized intellectual property practice seeks an associate to join its patent litigation group serving technology companies ranging from semiconductor manufacturers and streaming platforms to growth-stage startups.

The work:

• Advise on patent litigation strategy, motion practice, discovery, and case management in federal courts
• Negotiate and structure technology licensing agreements and IP transactions
• Counsel clients on intellectual property protection and enforcement
• Work closely with a cross-office team spanning Washington, D.C. and Silicon Valley
• Support both high-stakes litigation and complex strategic matters

What they're looking for:

• 2–6 years of direct patent litigation experience
• Strong technical background (electrical engineering, computer science, or physics preferred)
• Demonstrated proficiency in discovery, motion practice, and litigation strategy
• Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
• Team-oriented and collaborative
• Compensation: $235,000–$390,000
