International Trade Associate, New York and Washington DC · Vault-Ranked Firm

An internationally-focused law firm with strong expertise in international trade seeks a mid-level associate to join its international trade practice in New York or Washington DC. You'll handle complex customs and trade matters for clients navigating regulatory enforcement and compliance.

The work:

• Manage customs compliance matters including forced labor regulations, valuation, and classification
• Handle administrative proceedings, audits, and investigations before customs authorities
• Counsel clients on disclosure obligations and penalty mitigation strategies
• Prepare legal documentation and conduct regulatory analysis
• Supervise junior associates and manage cases on a day-to-day basis

What they're looking for:

• 2-4 years of substantive experience in customs and international trade law
• Preferred experience with U.S. Court of International Trade matters
• Ability to manage cases independently while supervising junior staff
• Strong writing and analytical skills with excellent academic credentials
• Admission or eligibility for admission to the New York or Washington DC bar
