Health Law Associate, Boston; New York; Washington, DC · Am Law 100 Firm
This AmLaw 100 firm seeks an associate or special counsel with expertise in pharmacy benefit manager and managed care industries to join its health law practice. You'll support a team advising health plans, payors, and PBM service providers on complex commercial contracting and operations.
The work:
- Draft and negotiate PBM contracts and related services agreements, including rebate contracts and pharmacy network agreements
- Lead contracting lifecycles for health plan PBM procurements, with potential travel for in-person negotiations
- Manage complex commercial contract workflows and coordinate with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel
- Advise on health plan operations, regulatory frameworks, and transactional considerations
- Handle contract administration and disputes arising under PBM agreements and vendor arrangements
What they're looking for:
- At least 3 years of commercial contracting experience in managed care or pharmaceutical supply chain matters
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience managing complex commercial transactions and multiple contract workflows
- Ability to anticipate client needs and communicate effectively with team members
- J.D. or LL.M. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission (or eligibility) in Massachusetts, New York, or Washington, DC
- Prior in-house PBM or health plan experience preferred
Salary range $200,000 to $345,000. Bonus eligible. 60% office presence required.
