Federal Energy Regulatory Associate, Washington DC · Leading Energy Law Firm
A leading energy law firm is seeking an associate or counsel to join its Federal Energy Regulatory Commission practice in Washington, DC. The firm represents utilities, generators, traders, and industrial consumers in energy regulatory matters.
The work:
- Regulatory compliance and rate-making proceedings before FERC
- Litigation and advocacy before FERC on behalf of energy companies
- Advising on regulatory aspects of energy and utility asset transactions, including financing, development, and acquisition matters
- Counseling on regulatory considerations for energy infrastructure projects
What they're looking for:
- Minimum 4 years of direct FERC electric regulation experience
- Expertise in at least two of: market-based rates and compliance, cost of service ratemaking, transmission and interconnection, FPA Section 203, or organized energy markets
- Strong academic credentials and demonstrated writing ability
- Independent working skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- DC bar membership or ability to waive in
- Familiarity with FERC's electronic filing systems and regulatory databases preferred
Compensation range: $310,000 to $425,000.
