Energy & Infrastructure Tax Associate, Multiple US Locations · Vault Top 10 Firm
A leading global tax firm seeks an associate to join the Energy & Infrastructure group, advising on complex tax structuring for power and energy transition deals. This role focuses on tax equity transactions, energy credit structures, joint ventures, and tax planning in the energy sector.
The work:
- Document and negotiate complex joint ventures in energy and power transition projects
- Structure and advise on tax equity transactions, including energy tax credit transfers
- Draft and negotiate tax provisions in partnership agreements, credit facilities, and purchase documentation
- Advise on partnership tax compliance and energy tax credit transactions
What they're looking for:
- JD from accredited law school
- Minimum 2 years of transactional tax experience
- Background with energy and infrastructure financings and M&A
- Substantive experience with energy tax credits
- Strong knowledge of partnership tax rules and documentation requirements
- Ability to draft, negotiate, and structure complex agreements
- Commercial orientation and strong client collaboration skills
Compensation: Competitive salary for entry-level associate (approximately $225,000), scaling with experience and class year.
