Energy and Natural Resources Associate, Pittsburgh · AmLaw 100 Firm
The firm's energy and natural resources group in Pittsburgh seeks a mid-level associate to handle oil and gas litigation matters, particularly in the Appalachian Basin. The practice covers commercial disputes, environmental compliance, and regulatory issues affecting energy development and operations.
The work:
- Draft preliminary motions, dispositive motions, and discovery responses
- Manage document review and production projects of varying sizes
- Prepare for depositions (both offensively and defensively)
- Conduct legal research supporting case strategy
- Develop capability to manage cases independently
What they're looking for:
- 3-5 years of experience in oil and gas litigation
- Familiarity with Appalachian Basin markets and oil and gas law fundamentals
- Exposure to environmental and regulatory litigation preferred
- Ability to draft complex motions and manage discovery
- Active membership in the Pennsylvania bar (or ability to waive in)
- Salary range $235,000-$365,000 (depending on experience and market factors)
- Commitment to taking on increased case responsibility
