Data Protection Associate, DC/NY · AmLaw 10 Firm

A top-tier AmLaw 10 firm is seeking an associate with 3+ years of experience in data privacy and cybersecurity to join its Data Protection practice. The role involves advising enterprise organizations on privacy laws, data governance, compliance frameworks, and incident response.

The work:

• Conduct legal research on U.S. state and federal privacy laws, emerging regulatory frameworks, and cross-border compliance
• Draft and review privacy policies, compliance documents, and regulatory correspondence
• Advise clients on privacy program development, data governance, and incident response protocols
• Provide direct counsel on privacy matters and compliance obligations
• Support transactions with privacy and data protection due diligence

What they're looking for:

• 3+ years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or regulatory work
• Background in privacy programs, incident response, or compliance frameworks preferred
• In-house or regulatory experience in data-sensitive or emerging technology industries
• AmLaw 100 firm background preferred
• Licensed to practice in DC or NY; hybrid flexibility between offices
• Salary: $260,000-$390,000 based on market and experience
