Corporate & Infrastructure Associate, Melbourne · Global Infrastructure and Finance Firm
A global law firm's flexible staffing division seeks an experienced corporate and infrastructure lawyer for a 12-month assignment in Melbourne, working on projects within the infrastructure and construction sector.
The work:
- Advise on complex infrastructure transactions in transport, energy, and roads sectors
- Manage legal and contractual risks aligned with business objectives
- Support rail transit systems and refranchising projects
- Provide strategic, commercially-focused guidance on major transactions
- Support project governance frameworks and compliance processes
- Distill complex legal issues into actionable business insights
- Negotiate key infrastructure and construction contracts
What they're looking for:
- Minimum 6 years as a corporate or infrastructure lawyer at a top-tier firm
- Demonstrated expertise in transport, energy, or related infrastructure sectors
- Rail transit systems and refranchising project experience
- Strong commercial judgment and negotiation skills
- Excellent communicator who can integrate legal and commercial considerations
- Ability to work autonomously and build stakeholder relationships
- Current Australian practising certificate and right to work in Australia
