A global law firm's flexible staffing division seeks an experienced corporate and infrastructure lawyer for a 12-month assignment in Melbourne, working on projects within the infrastructure and construction sector.

The work:

  • Advise on complex infrastructure transactions in transport, energy, and roads sectors
  • Manage legal and contractual risks aligned with business objectives
  • Support rail transit systems and refranchising projects
  • Provide strategic, commercially-focused guidance on major transactions
  • Support project governance frameworks and compliance processes
  • Distill complex legal issues into actionable business insights
  • Negotiate key infrastructure and construction contracts

What they're looking for:

  • Minimum 6 years as a corporate or infrastructure lawyer at a top-tier firm
  • Demonstrated expertise in transport, energy, or related infrastructure sectors
  • Rail transit systems and refranchising project experience
  • Strong commercial judgment and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communicator who can integrate legal and commercial considerations
  • Ability to work autonomously and build stakeholder relationships
  • Current Australian practising certificate and right to work in Australia
