A Magic Circle firm is adding a mid-level corporate associate to its Tokyo office. The work spans cross-border M&A, corporate finance, and Japan-related mandates that come through an international network. English-language drafting sits alongside coordination with Japanese and offshore counsel.

The work:

• Advise on cross-border acquisitions, joint ventures, and investments involving Japanese and international parties
• Draft and negotiate transaction documents in English on multi-jurisdiction deals
• Coordinate with colleagues across the firm's global offices and with local Japanese counsel
• Support corporate and commercial matters for multinational clients operating in Japan

What they're looking for:

• Around three to six years of corporate or M&A experience at an international firm
• Strong English drafting; business-level Japanese is an advantage
• A track record on cross-border transactions
