Consumer Finance Associate, Multiple US Locations · Leading National Firm
This national firm's financial regulatory practice counsels banks, credit unions, fintech platforms, non-bank lenders, servicers, consumer reporting agencies, and technology providers on federal and state financial regulations. The team advises on consumer protection compliance and regulatory strategy across the financial services industry.
The work:
- Advise clients on federal and state financial laws including the Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act
- Conduct financial regulatory and state licensing analyses
- Provide regulatory interpretation and compliance guidance on consumer protection requirements
- Draft and negotiate consumer lending documents and related contracts
- Assist with regulatory enforcement investigations and compliance matters
- Support compliance strategy development and implementation
What they're looking for:
- 3-4 years of experience (Class of 2022-2023) in consumer finance or financial regulatory practice
- Experience counseling banks, credit unions, fintech, and lenders on federal and state compliance
- Demonstrated knowledge of consumer protection regulations and state licensing requirements
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with lending documents
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with commitment to client service
- JD from ABA-accredited law school; active bar membership required
Salary range: $260,000–$310,000
