Construction Lawyer, Birmingham · Global Law Firm

Leading global firm seeks a senior associate or counsel-level construction and engineering lawyer for its Birmingham office. You will advise clients on projects across their full lifecycle—from procurement through execution and dispute resolution. The team handles contentious and non-contentious matters using all standard UK contract forms (NEC4, JCT) and international forms (FIDIC, IChemE), with experience in litigation, arbitration, adjudication, and alternative dispute resolution.

The work:

• Advise on contract negotiation, risk management, and project structuring
• Handle disputes across all mechanisms: litigation, arbitration, adjudication, ADR
• Draft case strategy, memoranda, and legal submissions
• Build and maintain client relationships with direct contact
• Mentor junior lawyers and oversee their work
• Work across multiple sectors including energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure
• Contribute to business development and practice growth

What they're looking for:

• 4+ years post-qualification in construction and engineering law
• Proven track record in both contentious and non-contentious work
• Familiarity with standard contract forms and dispute resolution mechanisms
