Competition Associate, Brussels · Vault Top 10 Firm

Top-tier global firm with a world-leading competition practice seeks a mid-level associate for its Brussels office. You will handle a broad spectrum of competition law matters spanning merger clearance, cartel investigations, monopolization claims, class action defense, and pharmaceutical antitrust litigation. The practice also advises on state aid, foreign subsidies regulation, and emerging EU digital and ESG regulatory work.

The work:

• Draft legal memoranda, court pleadings, and regulatory submissions with limited oversight
• Manage case files, timelines, and regulatory deadlines independently
• Coordinate and mentor junior lawyers on substantive matters
• Participate in client communications and contribute to case strategy with senior lawyers
• Represent clients before EU courts (Court of Justice and General Court)
• Advise on transaction structuring for antitrust and M&A compliance
• Handle regulatory submissions and enforcement actions

What they're looking for:

• 3–5 years post-qualification at a top international firm
• EEA Bar membership
• Specialized expertise in antitrust, M&A, or EU regulatory law
• Litigation experience before EU courts valued
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Excellent client communication and commercial judgment
• Proactive problem-solver with entrepreneurial mindset
