Career Associate, Cyber & Privacy, Multiple US Locations · Premier Technology Firm

A leading global firm with deep expertise in cybersecurity, privacy, and AI governance seeks a career associate for its Cyber, Privacy & Data Innovation group. This alternative-track role offers reduced hours (1,400–1,600 annually) and the opportunity to work on substantive matters across multiple U.S. offices without pursuing the traditional partnership path.

The work:

• Advise global companies on designing and implementing privacy, cybersecurity, and AI compliance programs
• Counsel on compliance with U.S. and international privacy frameworks (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, EU AI Act, HIPAA, GLBA, FCRA, COPPA, BIPA, CAN-SPAM, TCPA)
• Support privacy and security due diligence in corporate transactions, M&A, and IPOs
• Draft and negotiate data processing agreements, privacy policies, and security contract terms
• Provide guidance on data breach response, incident preparedness, and regulatory investigations
• Advise on AI governance frameworks, responsible AI development, and algorithm risk management
• Offer product counseling across technology sectors including HealthTech, PropTech, EdTech, and adtech

What they're looking for:

• 4–6 years of privacy, cybersecurity, AI, or data protection experience at a law firm or in-house
• Proficiency with major privacy and data protection frameworks and regulations
• Experience drafting and negotiating privacy and security terms in commercial contracts
• Familiarity with emerging AI governance and regulatory developments
• IAPP certifications (CIPP/US, CIPT, CIPM, AIGP) a plus
• Compensation: $175,000–$215,000
