Capital Markets Associate, Tokyo · Vault Top 10 Firm

A Vault Top 10 firm is hiring a junior associate for its capital markets team in Tokyo. The group handles debt and equity capital markets work across the region. Prior capital markets experience is not required; the firm will train the right junior who has the language and academic credentials to grow into the practice.

The work:

• Support debt and equity offerings for corporate and financial issuers.
• Draft and review offering documents, prospectuses, and ancillary transaction papers.
• Run diligence and manage closing mechanics alongside senior associates and partners.
• Coordinate with issuers, underwriters, and local counsel through the deal timeline.

What they're looking for:

• Exceptional Japanese language proficiency (this is mandatory).
• A strong academic record from a leading law programme.
• Interest in building a capital markets practice; direct experience is a plus, not a requirement.
