Biotech Intellectual Property Counsel, San Diego, Leading Biotech IP Firm

A leading biotech IP firm seeks an Associate or Counsel-level patent attorney with 5+ years of prosecution experience. You'll handle patent prosecution, opinions, and strategic counseling for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

The work:

• Conduct patent prosecution before the USPTO
• Provide patent opinions and strategic IP counseling
• Work on biochemistry, immunology, and large-molecule patents
• Develop expertise in organic chemistry and bioinformatics where applicable
• Handle matters for biotech and pharmaceutical clients

What they're looking for:

• JD from accredited U.S. law school
• California Bar admission and USPTO registration as Patent Attorney
• 5+ years of biotech patent prosecution experience
• Technical background in biochemistry, immunology, or microbiology
• Ph.D. preferred, but strong IP prosecution experience can substitute

Compensation range is $315K-$455K+ based on experience and qualifications. San Diego location.
