This position focuses on California land use and energy infrastructure projects. The team handles large-scale development entitlements across residential, commercial, and renewable energy sectors, including wind, solar, battery storage systems, and transmission facilities.

The work:

  • Guiding clients through California planning and zoning processes for major projects
  • Advising on state housing legislation and streamlining strategies for high-density residential development
  • Conducting environmental review and analysis under CEQA and NEPA
  • Handling transactional agreements including development agreements, leases, easements, and utility interconnections
  • Defending project entitlements in litigation when challenged
  • Managing regulatory compliance across land use, environmental, and utility-scale infrastructure laws

What they're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in California land use, energy law, or environmental law
  • Strong command of California zoning, planning, housing law, and environmental statutes
  • Ability to manage complex entitlement processes and coordinate with multiple agencies
  • Litigation experience a plus
  • Excellent academic record and California bar admission in good standing
