Associate, Multiple US Locations · Global Technology and Privacy Firm

This role focuses on privacy and data protection counseling for technology companies and other data-driven businesses. The team advises on federal and state privacy compliance, data protection program development, and emerging privacy issues.

The work:

• Advising clients on federal and state privacy laws and their practical implementation
• Developing and improving privacy programs and policies, including privacy impact assessments and data mapping
• Drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and vendor contracts
• Counseling on high-risk privacy issues including AI applications, advertising technology, health data, biometric data, and youth-oriented services
• Conducting privacy assessments and building data protection compliance frameworks

What they're looking for:

• 4-8 years of experience advising companies on privacy and data protection
• Deep knowledge of federal and state privacy laws
• Experience with data protection programs, privacy assessments, and data protection impact assessments
• Strong background in privacy policy drafting and contract negotiation
• Preferred: prior law firm experience
• Excellent academic credentials
