The M&A Clearance practice at a Vault Top 10 antitrust firm is hiring associates in Chicago and Washington, DC. The practice specializes in Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) compliance and international merger control matters. Core responsibilities include assessing HSR reportability, preparing HSR filings, managing filing coordination with clients and counsel, and analyzing substantive antitrust issues. Candidates with antitrust/competition experience, particularly in M&A clearance or with regulatory and private equity backgrounds, are preferred. The team provides training and mentorship. Work extends to Second Request responses and general antitrust advisory.

The work:

• Assess HSR reportability and prepare Hart-Scott-Rodino filings
• Manage filing preparation and coordinate with clients, corporate teams, and counsel
• Conduct substantive antitrust analysis of competitor transactions
• Prepare Second Request responses and antitrust counseling
• Support international merger control compliance

What they're looking for:

• 1+ years of antitrust/competition M&A clearance experience (regulatory or private equity background a plus)
• Excellent drafting and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and deadline management
• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
